The Crypto.com Visa Card is a prepaid Visa card, live in the UK and issued by ForisGFS UK Limited, an FCA-authorised electronic money institution (Firm Reference 988571). It fits people already inside the Crypto.com app who are comfortable holding CRO and want a reloadable card for everyday spending — not anyone chasing simple, no-strings cashback.

The headline is up to 5% back in CRO on everyday spending, but that top rate sits behind the Obsidian tier and a £400,000 12-month CRO staking lockup; the free tier earns 0%. Crypto.com does not publish an annual fee, so access is priced through subscription or staking tiers instead. Your balance is custodial — held as e-money, not as crypto on the card.

The rewards, and their real conditions

The advertised 5% CRO on everyday spending is real but gated: it requires the top Obsidian tier, which means a £400,000 12-month CRO staking lockup. Below it the ladder runs Midnight Blue 0% (free), Ruby Steel 2% (£3.99/month, £39.90 yearly, or £400 staking), Jade Green/Royal Indigo 3% (£24.99/month, £249.90 yearly, or £4,000 staking), and Icy White/Rose Gold 4% (£40,000 staking).

Rewards are also capped. The monthly rewards cap is $25 on Ruby Steel and $75 on Jade Green/Royal Indigo, with no limit on Icy White/Rose Gold and Obsidian. Payouts are in CRO, and some merchant categories or channels are excluded. A travel-spending rate of up to 15% is marketed as “Coming Soon” — it is not a live rate.

To apply, you must join Level Up, and your Level Up plan decides which tier you can get. All benefits and rewards are subject to change at Crypto.com’s sole discretion.

Fees: what you actually pay

Crypto.com does not publish an annual fee for this card, so none is stated here. The real cost is the tier itself. The paid subscriptions run £3.99/month (£39.90 yearly) for Ruby Steel and £24.99/month (£249.90 yearly) for Jade Green/Royal Indigo. The higher rates are not bought outright — they are unlocked by locking up CRO for 12 months (£400, £4,000, £40,000, or £400,000), and the rewards themselves are paid in CRO, not cash.

Custody, availability and wallets

This is a custodial, prepaid card. You top it up from your Crypto Wallet, Cash Account, or a credit/debit card; you cannot load cryptocurrency directly, as all crypto is converted into fiat first. Your money is held as e-money by ForisGFS UK Limited and safeguarded in a segregated account — an e-money product, not a bank deposit.

The card is live in the UK, and Crypto.com’s December 17, 2025 list shows the prepaid Visa shipping across 31 European countries. For phones, Google Pay works on UK-issued cards (UK cardholders only; the card must be active in the app first, and Crypto.com may approve or reject adding it). Apple Pay is not available in the UK — the issuer’s region table lists the United Kingdom as “N.”

Who it is for

Get it if you already use Crypto.com, hold or plan to stake CRO, and want a reloadable Visa whose rewards scale with your commitment — the 2-3% tiers are reachable for a monthly fee, and Google Pay is supported. Skip it if you want straightforward cashback without a subscription or lockup, rely on Apple Pay, or would rather your rewards were not tied to CRO. The genuinely high rates demand five- and six-figure CRO lockups that make no sense for most everyday spenders.
