Verdict
The Revolut Crypto Card suits existing UK Revolut users who want a simple way to pay for everyday purchases from a crypto balance and add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay. It is not a rewards card. Revolut states no cashback or crypto rewards program on the crypto-card page at all, so if you came looking for spend-and-earn crypto, this is the wrong card.
The top-line picture is unusually sparse. No reward rate is published, and Revolut does not disclose an annual fee for the crypto card. The one thing stated plainly is custody: it is custodial — Revolut holds the crypto, says it never lends it out, and keeps the majority of funds in cold storage. Availability is confirmed for the UK, on Revolut’s own site.
Rewards: none disclosed
Most cards marketed as “crypto cards” sell themselves on cashback paid in crypto. This one does not. Revolut states no rewards or cashback program anywhere on the crypto-card page or its FAQs, and discloses no reward currency. There is no top tier to unlock, no staking requirement and no paid membership that switches on a higher rate — because no rate is published in the first place. Treat this as a way to spend crypto, not to earn it.
Custody, payments and availability
On custody Revolut is clear, and the news is straightforward: the model is custodial. Revolut holds your crypto, tells customers it never lends it out, and says the majority of funds sit in cold storage. You are trusting Revolut as the keeper of the assets you spend — this is not a self-custody card, so the usual counterparty questions apply.
For spending, you can link the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay for contactless payments. On availability, the card is offered on Revolut’s UK site; Revolut does not publish a wider list of eligible regions, so treat UK access as what’s confirmed and verify your own country directly with Revolut.
What Revolut doesn’t disclose
Even by crypto-card standards, the page leaves several basics unstated. None of the following are described as zero or “free” — they are simply absent, so factor the uncertainty in:
- Rewards and reward currency — no program of either kind is stated.
- Annual fee — never addressed on the crypto-card page.
- Card network — Visa or Mastercard is never named.
- Issuer — no specific issuer is attributed to the card.
- Eligible regions — no scope list beyond confirmed UK availability.
Who it is for
Get it if you are already a UK Revolut user who wants an easy way to spend a crypto balance in shops and online through Apple Pay or Google Pay, and you are comfortable with Revolut holding the crypto custodially rather than you self-custodying it.
Skip it if you want crypto cashback or rewards — none are disclosed — or if you need to confirm the card network, issuer or annual fee before committing, because Revolut does not publish those for this card. Anyone who prioritises self-custody should look elsewhere too.
