Verdict

The Gemini Credit Card is the cleanest pick for a US spender who wants genuine credit-card rewards paid in crypto, with no staking and no prepaid balance to manage. It is a real Mastercard World Elite credit card, issued by WebBank, and it pays up to 4% back in bitcoin or any of 50 or more other coins you can switch whenever you like. There is no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee.

Because it is a credit card rather than a crypto debit card, spending it is not a disposal of your own coins, which keeps the tax handling simpler than a card that sells crypto at the register.

The 4% is real, but read the fence around it

The headline rate is not a flat 4% on everything. It applies to one category, gas, EV charging and transit, and only on the first $300 of that category spend each month, after which it drops to 1% for the rest of the month. Treat it as a strong everyday-category rate rather than a blanket one.

What makes the rewards genuinely flexible is the payout. You choose the coin, from bitcoin to 50 or more others, and you can change it whenever you like, so the reward is not locked to a single volatile house token the way some rivals are.

Fees: genuinely low

This is where Gemini is unusually clean for a crypto card. There is no annual fee, and no foreign transaction fee, so it does not quietly claw back rewards on overseas spend the way many cards do. The costs that remain are the ordinary ones of any credit card, chiefly interest if you carry a balance, which you avoid by paying in full each month.

The honest unknowns

Gemini does not publish everything a buyer wants. Its card pages do not state a custody model for rewards, nor whether the card adds to Apple Pay or Google Pay, nor a state-by-state availability list. We mark those unknown rather than guess. For a US applicant they are unlikely to be dealbreakers, but if mobile-wallet support is essential to you, confirm it before you apply.

Who it is for

Get the Gemini Credit Card if you are in the US, want category rewards paid in the crypto of your choice, and do not want to stake a token or manage a prepaid balance to earn them. Look elsewhere if you live outside the US, or if you want a single flat rate on all spending rather than a category-based one.
